Website Redesign Proposal

North East's Largest Mall
Deserves a Better Website.

This is a proposal for City Centre Guwahati — prepared by Prakity Technologies after a full review of the current site, what's missing, and what a world-class mall website looks like in 2026.

What We Found

The current website
has real problems.

We reviewed citycenterghy.com page by page. Here is exactly what we found.

High Impact
Broken video on the About page

The About Us page shows a YouTube embed with "Video unavailable — this video is private." First thing visitors see after reading about the mall. It makes the site look abandoned.

High Impact
Footer still reads © 2024

It's 2026. That single outdated detail tells every visitor no one is maintaining this site. For North East's largest mall, the impact on credibility is outsized.

High Impact
No events anywhere on the site

City Centre runs events and activations regularly — visible on Instagram, absent from the website. Visitors who want to plan a trip around an event simply can't.

Noticeable
Walls of centred text

The About page is a single column of center-aligned paragraphs with no visual hierarchy. Visitors won't read it — they'll bounce.

Noticeable
Hero layout breaks on mobile

Text overlaps the background image awkwardly across screen sizes. The stat block loses labels at certain widths. Most visitors land on mobile — it looks unfinished.

Noticeable
Built like a 2016 brochure

WordPress with no performance tuning, no modern stack, no structured content. It's a brochure — not a destination website for a mall with this much footfall.

The Bottom Line
"The website says 'North East India's Largest Shopping Mall.' Nothing about the experience backs that up."

A visitor who doesn't already know City Centre won't be impressed — or convinced to visit. The mall is world-class. The website isn't — yet.

This isn't about redesigning for aesthetics. It's about whether the website does its actual job: driving footfall, communicating events, and giving visitors a reason to show up.

What Top Malls Do

This is what a flagship
mall website looks like.

We reviewed DLF Malls, Phoenix Palladium, Forum Gdańsk, and others. Every single one has what citycentreghy.com doesn't.

📅
Live Events Calendar

Upcoming events on the homepage — dates, images, and save options right up front. Not buried in a sub-page.

🔍
Searchable Brand Directory

Visitors confirm their favourite brand is in the mall before making the trip. City Centre currently lists stores as plain text.

🏷️
Offers & Deals Section

A regularly updated offers section drives repeat visits. Right now, there is no offers page at all on citycentreghy.com.

📱
Mobile-First Experience

More than 70% of shoppers look up a mall on their phone first. The best mall websites are designed mobile-first — fast, clean, tap-friendly.

📸
Instagram Feed on Site

City Centre has a strong Instagram presence. Top malls pull that energy directly into the site — so it's visible the moment someone lands.

Fast Load, Clear Navigation

The best sites load in under two seconds. Navigation clear enough that a first-time visitor always knows where to go — no digging, no dead pages.

The Gap

Current site vs.
what it should be.

This isn't about design preferences. It's about whether the website does its job.

citycentreghy.com right now What it should be
Broken video on the About page Homepage that communicates scale and energy immediately
No events — visitors don't know what's happening Live events section — this weekend, next week, upcoming
Copyright still shows 2024 Always updated, signalling the site is actively maintained
Centred paragraph text, no visual hierarchy Clean, scannable layout that works on mobile and desktop
No deals or offers section Offers that change regularly and drive repeat visits
Store listings in plain text, no search or filter Brand directory with search — find your store in five seconds
Not designed for mobile Mobile-first, fast, and tap-friendly
No way to see what's trending or new Instagram feed integrated — social energy lives on-site

The Demo

We didn't just write this down.
We built a preview.

Before this conversation even started, we designed a working one-pager demo of what the new City Centre website could feel like. You can view it right now.

The demo is intentionally minimal — it shows direction, tone, and structure. The actual build will be significantly more detailed, with real content, real brands, and real events from the City Centre team.

Technology

Modern. Fast. Easy
for your team to manage.

We'll move the site off WordPress onto a stack built for 2026 — fast pages, easy content updates, and analytics from day one.

React / Next.js — fast, modern front end
Sanity or Contentful CMS — no developer needed to update content
CDN hosting — pages load quickly across Assam and beyond
Analytics dashboard — set up from launch day
Mobile-first responsive design
SEO structure built in from day one
Before

WordPress with no performance tuning. No headless CMS. No structured content. Built like a brochure — requiring developer involvement for every small update.

After

Modern stack. Your team updates events, offers, and store listings without touching code. Pages load in under two seconds. Analytics tell you what's working.
